Creating Content for Event Marketing

How can a specific event or calendar date help drive traffic to your website?

Depending on your industry, there are certain holidays, tradeshows, conferences, or other events that will impact your business.

Perhaps you’re in sports media and your website is heavily impacted by events such as The Superbowl, or as in the instance Bryan DeLuca talks about in the video below, Martin Luther King Day. Another example of an event impacting your website is a tradeshow or conference. In the B2B tech space, industry experts (and even some consumers) go crazy for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV each January.

Bryan DeLuca will explain why this is, and how you can benefit from major industry events using content. He’ll run through some unique tips for creating content for event marketing.

  1. Use tools like Google Trends
  2. Create articles and landing pages before the actual event
  3. During the event, create content constantly
  4. Make sure you’re e-mailing your subscribers during the event (or push notifications) to ensure maximum engagement
  5.  (Bonus): Create a summary for the event, post-event
